DUVRI Given the specific nature of BSBF 2024, drafting a DUVRI (Documento Unico di Valutazione dei Rischi da Interferenze, i.e., Single Interference Risk Assessment Document) was essential to ensure occupational safety in the Trieste Convention Center (GCC) and adjacent areas used for the event. The document helped identify, analyze, and manage risks arising from overlapping tasks performed by different actors in the venue—suppliers, contractors, exhibitors, and the organizing staff. Establishing clear procedures and adopting appropriate preventive measures minimized potential hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. Creating the DUVRI further enhanced effective coordination among all involved parties, upholding the standards required for an event of this magnitude. All suppliers were asked to complete a declaration of compliance with technical- professional requirements, along with a statement of any risks introduced into the work environment, specifying their operational stages. Additionally, the following documents were requested: • DURC (Conformity Certificate regarding insurance and social security contributions) • Certificate of Incorporation (Visura Camerale) • Nominal list of staff involved in setup and during BSBF 2024. 6.4.5. Security An event like BSBF requires a multi-level security strategy, both in terms of complying with regulations for safe use of spaces by all involved, and in terms of protocols for hosting national and international authorities. The Generali Convention Center shared its general emergency plan with the PCO. The PCO requested safety manuals from all main suppliers, along with two forms drafted by the security manager. Exhibitors received appropriate safety information and were asked to secure their own insurance coverage. During the planning stages for space usage and subsequent setup, it was verified that nothing obstructed emergency exits, access to fire extinguishers, or electrical panels. Throughout the event—from the earliest setup stages—a dedicated security teamwas present, along with electricians and IT technicians. Several informative and strategic meetings were held at the Prefecture and the Police Headquarters to define how to safeguard both attendees and event spaces. For the opening ceremony and initial sessions, which hosted national and local authorities, law enforcement provided support to event security staff, monitoring entrances, and city police handled traffic flow near the venue. The PCO urged its staff to oversee access control, ensuring that all persons on site wore their badges and that vehicle entry had been pre-authorized. Supplies
